11 BIENAL DE ARQUITETURA DE SÃO PAULO

The 11th São Paulo Architecture Biennale, entitled “In Project”, proposed a collaborative edition, under construction and in process. In addition to an exhibition, the exhibition was presented as research, archive and action.

For the Bienal, the Praça das Artes cultural complex was occupied by two exhibition and activation centers. The exhibition space hosted the exhibition “Brazilian Developments: cartographies of an imaginary here”, which evoked the architect Lina Bo Bardi. Historical works and proposals were gathered, which were placed in parallel with contemporary projects. Discourses on the history of architecture were revisited in the context of the construction of a Brazilian imaginary, suggesting new possible positions for architects vis-à-vis the community. From the architect, the exhibition resumed her interest in popular culture in northeastern Brazil, represented by some of her collection objects.
